This is a canvas I made for my daughter for her birthday. I included all of her favorite things. She is an earthy girl so I used earth tone colors. She likes the outdoors and flowers, cameos, lace and keys.

Here is a close up of the cameo and flowers.

The tree was done first with a stencil and brown spritz color and then I spritzed it with water to give it a mottled or shadow effect. The tree was done with a stencil and modeling paste. I colored the modeling paste and then when it dried I went over it with a darker brown to give it texture. The fence was cut from my pazzles.

I'm  not sure about anyone else but I have a hard time making masculine cards. It is easy to make a card with flowers and ribbon but I find it difficult at times to make a card manly. Here is a card I made using Tim Holtz stamps. Behind the car is a piece of left over scraps from a sewing pattern. I got the idea from my friend Kathleen. Sewing pattern pieces are so fun to work with because they are so versatile. You can crumple it up, tear it, modge podge, ink it, paint it you name it. Each one gives it a different look. So I added a piece of the sewing pattern then attached it to an embossed tag.

Summer wreath. It did not turn out exactly as I wanted but everyone loved it.

Canvas art

We hosted a wonderful crop this summer and Kristie Taylor taught a great canvas class. Here is my first canvas.
